Ipod touch 3g 8GB 3.1.3 jailbreak

Well I did it successfully after a week effort.So,lets simplify for those who are still struggling to jailbreak their newly bought Ipod touch 3g 3.1.3(preloaded) MC model.

I have my OS as Windows 7 .This makes blackra1n difficult to run.I tried several times but it crashes even in the compatibility mode(Windows XP SP 2).
I am using the latest version of Itunes Player.

So lets not waste the time and start the jailbreaking process.

1>The first thing you need to do is to downgrade your firmware to 3.1.2 version.Now,you will say it doesn't work.I assure you it works and works pretty well.Just search 'ipod touch 2g 3.1.2 firmware' in google without quotes.The very first link is as below.

2>Now go to the second drop down menu and search for Ipod Touch 2G(3.1.2/7D11).Click download and you will be directed to megaupload website.Download the file.

3>Rename the file.Just change 7D11 to 7E18.The file name will look like 'iPod2,1_3.1.2_7E18_Restore'.

4>Now you have to power off your iphone.Click home button and count to 10.Then attach it to your laptop/pc and make sure you keep pressing you home button.This whole process is to make your ipod enter DFU mode.

5>Once it is in DFU mode,your itune will say that your Ipod is in recovery mode.Do you want to restore?.Click yes.

6>Then hold the shift key and press Restore.

7>It will ask you the location of the ipsw file you just downloaded.Select it and let the itunes do its work.

8>After the restore is completed.Remove your Ipod from your laptop/pc.Go to settings>general>about>version.Confirm it is downgraded to 3.1.2 7D11.

9>Now I will use Redsn0w 0.9.2 version to jailbreak the Ipod.You can download this from http://redsn0w.com/.
Click info here on the website and go to the bottom of the page to download the software.

10>Again connect your ipod touch in DFU mode to the laptop/pc.

11>Download it and start it.Once the GUI pops up,it will say Browse.Click Browse and select the .ipsw file you downloaded.Click yes for other windows if they pop out.Then select Install Cydia option.

12>Jailbreaking starts and viola it completes successfully.You can see Cydia installed on your Ipod touch.

13>Note :--For me it so happened that after completion of jailbreak the Ipod touch was still in DFU mode.I restarted the Redsn0w 0.9.2 and followed step 11 and then selected the option boot in tethered mode option.After the reboot,my Ipod ran successfully.So.if you face the same follow this step.
